Dwyer Leads Duo to Ping Pong Championship
June 18, 2006

Sean McCourt can thank the brackets committee for pairing him with Ellen Dwyer, as together they marched through the First Annual Hollister Ping Pong Tournament en route to a two game sweep over Jennifer Wells and Doug Wakefield in their highly publicized championship match.

Dwyer proved to be the difference all tournament long as her solid volley play coupled with her accurate serve helped propel them through the tournament of Hollister also rans. An occasional slam by McCourt helped seal the championship, but this tournament belonged to Ellen Dwyer. She was magnificent from start to finish and had co-workers on their toes all tournament long.

Never one to toot her own horn, Ellen thanked Sean for his determined effort and humbly wished him luck should they face off in the upcoming and much anticipated Hollister Ping Pong Singles Tournament where she will once again be favored to bring home Hollister gold.

Also, on another positive Hollister ping pong note, Doug Wakefield is expected to make a full recovery from his freak championship injury. Many people watched in horror as Doug choked during the match. Despite all her efforts to revive him, Jennifer Wells could only watch in disbelief as Doug wilted before our very eyes. Doug is now resting comfortably and eager to hit the table again in preparation for the singles trophy.
